Current members of the Sioux Falls School Board invite anyone interested in learning more about the roles and responsibilities of the Board to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 6-7pm at IPC, 201 E. 38th Street.
Members will explain the role they play in determining policy and making decisions that impact 24,000 preK-12 students in 36 schools across the city. In addition, SFSD Board Members also serve as the governing board of Southeast Technical College. Regular meetings and work sessions are required, in addition to representing the District and STC on various committees.
Three positions, currently held by Dawn Marie Johnson, Marc Murren, and Gail Swenson will be up for election on June 2, 2026. Candidates must live in the boundaries of the Sioux Falls School District.
